No wonder UNESCO puts these rice terraces on its World Heritage Lists. They are so beautiful and still amazingly preserved. The rice terraces of Batad, Banaue, Hungduan are famous all over the world. But the Ifugaos need more than to be on the list. They need help on how to preserve their rice terraces complete with the forests that are important to maintain their ecosystems. Apart from their more than 2000 years of local wisdom in maintaining the rice terraces, they need other knowledge to increase their productions without jeopardizing the rice terraces.
